Daniel Carter is a superstar of the Rugby Union world. He played for the New Zealand under 21’s team in 2002. His first game for the All Blacks Rugby team was in June 2003 and Carter has already stacked up 540 points for the All Blacks. Daniel Carter is All Black number 1034.

Carter is now recognised as one of the best, if not the best, first five eighth in the rugby world. When he first started playing Carter filled the number 12 jersey playing outside his then Canterbury team mate, Andrew Mehrtens. Carter moved into the number 10 jersey as recently as August 2004.

Daniel William Carter was born on 5 March 1982 in Leeston, Canterbury, New Zealand and is now 24 years old. His last school was Christchurch Boys’ High School and he played rugby for the High School Old Boys (HSOB) team in Christchurch. He plays for the Canterbury province in his national rugby games.

In 2005 Carter was named the IRB Player of the Year and also New Zealand’s Player of the Year for Rugby. He has a brilliant mix of physical and mental skills, with great speed, deceptive strength and a handy side-step.

For the All Blacks Carter has notched up 16 tries, 98 conversions, 87 penalties and 1 drop goal giving a total points scored for the All Blacks to 540 points.
